Poppi Sabhaney – Registered Acupuncturist
“One of the greatest feelings is to help a patient that has not been able to find relief from their symptoms from prior treatments or therapies.” – Poppi Sabhaney
I am a Trauma and Pain Management Specialist, with a focus on PTSD and scar revisional work. For the last 10 years I have been treating PTSD and the related emotional and physical injuries of active service personnel, veterans, law enforcement and civilans. Outside the clinic I also run and faciliate a trauma program for Women in recovery in New Westminster at the Westminster House.
I use a simple, innovative and effective nerve-body approach to achieve balance in the body and restore normal brain function through nerve and fascial tissue stimulation after major traumatic incidents. Healing is not just about the injuries that we see with our eyes, it is also those on the inside that are hidden. The secret is to treat the emotional scars of the mind and the physical injuries of the body in unison. And I continue to learn all techniques that involves any type of acupuncture and all regenerative based injection therapies.
Through working with external scars I also began to study medical aesthetics as many of my patients have had scars, marks or disfigurements that they felt affected their personal and unique healing process(es). The very definition of a scar is a mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore that has `not healed completely’. Some scars carrying with it a memory or certain unpleasant feelings when touched. For many people this is the last step in their ability to surpass the trauma.
These are the unique services that I offer to you in your journey of healing. If any of this sounds like something that you would benefit from, let`s start that discussion. Appointments can currently be booked online or by calling the clinic.
**Please Note – we currently do not offer direct billing for acupuncture services to extended benefit providers.

Jessica McGuire – Bowen Therapist
My name is Jessica Ashlee McGuire, and I am a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at UBC, where I studied Commerce and Marketing. Throughout school and especially after graduation, I experienced severe neck and back pain from sitting at a desk for long hours during the day. But here’s the kicker: no matter what I tried to do to relieve the pain, it would only be a short while before it would return. Sound familiar? That was me until, that is, I discovered Bowen Therapy.
Bowen Therapy is an innovative acupressure technique that combines the meridian knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine but without the use of needles. Bowen Therapy technique revisits the way you cope with pain and allows you to deal with the symptoms more positively. The best part? It relieves the majority of symptoms developed from chronic and acute conditions through gentle, yet specific and targeted fascial release techniques.
The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise acupressure points of the body to perform Bowen’s unique sets of rolling-type moves which stimulate the muscles and soft tissue of the body. There is no manipulation nor adjustment of hard tissue and no force is used. The experience of a treatment is gentle, subtle and relaxing. The Bowen Technique prompts the body to reset, repair and balance itself and clients report the experience of pain relief, improvement of function and recovery of energy.
